Hendrick Hospice Care Volunteers
Hospice volunteers are special people. One thing all hospice volunteers have in common is a true desire to help.
- Volunteers serve in many ways: listen to concerns, keep the patient and family company, provide a link to hospice staff, be a support person, possibly run errands.
- There are no special skills needed except a caring heart and willingness to serve others.
- While patient care is not for everyone, volunteers also help out behind the scenes by typing, raising money, answering phones and serving on committees.
- Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age with a willingness to minister to life threatening ill patients and their families.
- Hospice volunteers must attend a training program to provide direct patient care.
- For more information, please call 325.677.8516.
