Hendrick Hospice Care Volunteers
Hospice volunteers are special people. One thing all hospice volunteers have in common is a true desire to help.

  • Volunteers serve in many ways: listen to concerns, keep the patient and family company, provide a link to hospice staff, be a support person, possibly run errands.
  • There are no special skills needed except a caring heart and willingness to serve others.
  • While patient care is not for everyone, volunteers also help out behind the scenes by typing, raising money, answering phones and serving on committees.
  • Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age with a willingness to minister to life threatening ill patients and their families.
  • Hospice volunteers must attend a training program to provide direct patient care.
