Hendrick Hospice Care
Hendrick Hospice Care also provides community based programs. Club Courage is one such program which helps children deal with a loss from divorce or death.
Club Courage, formerly Rainbows, is a program that provides children with the opportunity to receive special attention while learning to cope with loss. Grieving children often struggle to identify and express the confusing emotions of grief, and through this program, they are given the opportunity to process their emotions and feelings through peer interaction and support. Club Courage is for ages kindergarten through twelfth grade. Groups are led by trained, adult volunteers. The program lasts six weeks and is offered twice a year, concurrent with the fall and spring school semesters.
Camp Courage - The first of its kind in this area, is a camp for children who have suffered the loss of a loved one through death or divorce. This camp is open to children in grades first through 12, and they must have completed kindergarten. It is a four day, three-night camp offered in the summer. This special retreat is an extension of the Rainbows program.
Other community-based programs offered through Hendrick Hospice Care include:
- Pathways
- Bereavement services
- Educational programs
- Speaker's bureau
- A resource library
- Volunteer opportunities
